Two possible landing spots emerge for Adrian Peterson

Peterson appeared in just three games for the Vikings in the 2016-17 NFL season.

Coming into this NFL offseason, long-time Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson figured to be one of the most-intriguing free agents available. However, teams have locked up other running backs like Latavius Murray and Eddie Lacy while Peterson has yet to sign with a new team.

That may change soon, though, as Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports is reporting that the Detroit Lions and Oakland Raiders are the two teams to watch for Peterson right now.

The Raiders have been long been rumored as a possible landing spot, and with Murray leaving the team to sign with Peterson's old team, it would certainly be interesting to see them swap places. As for the Lions, the team is in the market for another running back to help shoulder the load with Ameer Abdullah and Theo Riddick.

As La Canfora mentioned, the Seattle Seahawks ultimately signed Lacy after being reportedly interested in Peterson, so it's certainly interesting to see the Lions, a long-time division rival, jump into the mix for Peterson.
