We now reportedly have a reason Colin Kaepernick is still in San Fran

Terms to a deal were reportedly agreed upon to send the quarterback to Denver as recently as Saturday.

The trade speculation seemingly just won't die surrounding San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. As of Saturday early evening, it looked as if the quarterback was headed to the Denver Broncos to replace future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning — the two sides had reportedly agreed to terms of a trade that would send Kap to Mile High,  but he would have to restructure his contract.

According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Kap wasn't willing to take the pay cut that the Broncos were asking him to make. On Monday morning, the quarterback showed up in the first official team offseason workout, perhaps further suggesting that he was staying put in the Bay Area. One would speculate that trade talks between the two sides would fizzle out at this point, but Rapoport, appearing on NFL Network on Monday afternoon said that trade talks between the two sides are "quiet, but not dead yet," so it appears that Denver could still be in the cards for Kap after all.

"At the least the trade talks right now are quiet, they've hit pause and they're on a little bit of a hiatus — not dead yet. It'd be difficult to declare trade talks dead until the Broncos actually acquire another quarterback who could either be considered their starter or someone to come in and compete with Mark Sanchez.

"Kaepernick has been adamant that he will not take a pay cut from his salary which is set at the $11.9 million." Rapoport added on NFL Network.

We will continue to update this story as it develops.
