LSU pitcher takes a line drive to the face and wants to stay in the game

This kid has more guts than you and I combined.

You've seen what can happen to you when a pitch rocks you in the face. Blood gushing everywhere, your dentist somewhere rubbing his hands together like a psychotic villain who just came up with his most diabolical plan yet.

Don't tell any of that to LSU pitcher Austin Bain, who apparently has jaws of steel after getting hit in the face with a line drive in Monday's regional against Rice.

Immediately you think the worse and that he needs medical attention right away, but this kid actually asked to stay in the game.

That's not guts folks, that's something deeper and far more inspirational.

Being down 10-6 in the bottom of the eighth, no one would have faulted him for leaving the game. Instead he wanted go down fighting with his ship.

He tweeted to let everyone know he was fine and in good spirits.

Next time you want to prove you're tough, take a line drive to the face and smile afterwards.
