'Big Cozy' Is the 360-Pound 7-Footer That College Basketball Fans Can’t Get Enough Of

We've all asked the question of what an offensive lineman would look like as a basketball player.

St. John Fisher University center Connor Williams is the answer.

Williams checks in at 7 feet and 360 pounds, and he's taking college basketball by storm.

Connor "Big Cozy" Williams: The Biggest Player in College Basketball

Williams hails from Victor, New York, which is only about a 20-minute drive from St. John Fisher in Rochester. In high school, he played basketball and football. He was named Monroe County Player of the Year in basketball as a senior and earned all-league honors on the gridiron. I imagine trying to get past this guy was like trying to move a brick wall. I imagine trying to check him out for a rebound is similar.

For all his size, Williams has a soft touch. He has a nice jump hook around the rim and consistent floater. He can even step out beyond the arc and hit a 3-pointer. You see a lot of big, burly guys not knowing what to do with all of their strength. Williams, on the other hand, is more nimble than he lets on.

As a freshman last season, Williams averaged 2.9 points and 2.4 rebounds on 6.7 minutes per game. In six appearances this season, he's scoring 2.7 points and snatching 2.0 rebounds on 6.2 minutes per game. My man is a spark plug.

Yes, I'm a fan of Williams' game, but it has nothing on his nickname. Connor Williams is the name you'll see in the program, but the big man is known around town as "Big Cozy." Look at him in the lane. He looks all comfy, ready to sit down with a glass of hot chocolate and read a book.

He's also capitalized on it. Last year, he sold "Big Cozy" T-shirts, with $5 from every purchase going to charity.

Williams — excuse me, Mr. Cozy — has also inked a name-image-likeness deal with DXL, a big-and-tall store.

All in all, I'm in awe of the size of this lad. Best of luck to any Division III hooper who's tasked with boxing out "Big Cozy."
