Five-star PF Emmitt Williams gets huge update after his arrest

It is decided.

Five-star power forward has been playing this season under a cloud of scrutiny after his arrest in October. He was charged with felony sexual battery and false imprisonment after he reportedly held a female friend in her apartment and then had sex with her despite her attempts to stop him. However, those charges have now been dropped according to court documents obtained by ESPN.

The 6-foot-7, 215-pound star out of Florida will now be able to play his senior season with a little less worry in his life and he is pretty fortunate it worked out this way for him. Assistant State Attorney Jenny Rossman believes that there was never really a case against him though.

"From the investigation which has been made, it is the opinion of the writer that this case is not suitable for prosecution. This action is taken to clear the records and to release subject's bond if any has been posted responsive to the above charge(s). If in custody, defendant should be released."

Williams has offers from LSU, Florida, Kansas, Miami, USC and Duke among others. He is ranked as the No. 7 player at his position and No. 4 recruit in the state as well as the No. 24 overall recruit in the class of 2018 according to 247Sports. Williams averaged 17.1 points and 11.3 rebounds on the Nike EYBL circuit last spring and summer.
