Jett Howard says he'll go through the recruiting process like everyone else.
There's a school up in Ann Arbor, Michigan and a head coach who doubles as a father who might have something to say about that.
Juwan Howard, a former Miami Heat player and the Michigan Wolverines basketball coach, has already courted one son up north.
The younger Howard, a 6-foot-6 small forward/shooting guard, will have plenty of options to choose from.
Jett Howard Highlights

Jett Howard's length and stature are ideal for a wing player. Given his wingspan and broad shoulders, I think he's still growing. I wouldn't be surprised if he shot up a few more inches before college. From the sophomore highlights I watched, he was still getting comfortable with his size. He wasn't overly explosive but showed signs of athleticism that come with growth.
Howard handled the ball quite a bit at the University School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. His high dribble allowed defenders to stay in front of him. He needs to be lower to utilize his athletic ability. His court vision offsets this a bit. He's able to bait defenders and picks spots to attract help — opening up passing lanes. His height gives him the ability to see over the defense.
The four-star recruit has a consistent outside shot. He can create space off the dribble and positions himself well for open looks.
Watching highlights from the 2020 offseason, Howard looked like a different player. He put on some muscle and looks more spry. Playing primarily off the ball, he cuts hard to the rim for easy buckets. His shot is more fluid. The game looks easier.
Howard has the attributes to become a great wing defender. His size and added strength would make life difficult for opponents.
Jett Howard Basketball Recruiting
After playing his first two high school seasons at the University School, Howard transferred to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida in May 2020. He'll join a loaded roster that includes standouts Moussa Diabete, Jarace Walker, and point guard Jaden Bradley.

Jett is the 48th-ranked recruit in the 2022 recruiting class according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings. ESPN ranks him 36th. In addition to a college basketball scholarship from the University of Michigan, he has offers from Florida and Vanderbilt. Howard's said North Carolina and Duke are on his list of dream schools.
Most analysts predict Jett will join his older brother Jace Howard and father to take on Big Ten competition such as Michigan State and Minnesota.
At the USA basketball mini-camp in October 2019, he confirmed his recruitment is wide open. Howard plays for NightRydas Elite on the Nike EYBL circuit.
If Howard needs further affirmation about Michigan, the Wolverines have proved they can land talent. 2021 five-star Caleb Houstan of Montverde Academy committed in October 2020. Wake Forest transfer Chaundee Brown is able to play the 2020-21 season thanks to the approval of his NCAA waiver. Brown average 12.1 points and 6.5 rebounds for the Demon Deacons in 2019-20.
As Jett Howard improves, expect more and more programs to call. That being said, the one in Ann Arbor has a strong upper hand.
