Say hello to the first buzzer beater of the 2015-16 season

Loyola Maryland was hosting LIU Brooklyn as part of ESPN’s college basketball marathon and we got a much better game than we thought we might see. The Blackbirds of LIU Brooklyn were tied with the Greyhounds when a Loyola player cut to the basket for what looked like an easy layup, but was denied the bucket.

Not only did LIU get the ball back, but the guard had the presence of mind to get it up the floor to an open Joel Hernandez who banked in the three for the win!

That gave LIU Brooklyn the 71-68 win in one of the more exciting fashions we’ve seen so far this year.
