24-year-old former SEC player reportedly charged with murder

This is horrible.

Former Mississippi State defensive lineman Quay Evans has been arrested for the second time in about a year and a half on gun charges, this time in a shooting that killed one man and injured another Saturday evening.

According to MSNewsNow, Evans was arrested and charged with murder, attempted murder and aggravated assault, after officers showed up at a house and found one man dead and the other with a head wound from another gun shot. Evans' brother, Samuel Mortez, was arrested on the exact same three charges on Sunday.

Evans, a one-time four-star recruit and No. 3 player in the state of Mississippi, was arrested in July of 2015 after several fights occurred at an apartment complex resulted in the former Mississippi State player pulling out a gun and firing into the air, per Clarion Ledger.

Evans played in 15 games for the Bulldogs, registering 10 tackles before transferring to West Georgia, per SEC Country. He did not play football again after transferring.
