Florida State DE DeMarcus Walker steps into The Swamp after his spring Twitter slam

Florida State defensive end DeMarcus Walker isn’t well liked among fans of No. 12 Florida and for good reason. The junior sent out a tweet back in March saying “It sucks to be a Florida Gator” and the reaction, as you would expect, hasn’t been pleasant, according to PalmBeachPost.com’s Tom D’Angelo.

“Twitter’s kind of crazy,” Walker said. “They came after me. I kind of took it in. … every now and then I got some people that ‘at’ me, Gator fans and all that, but I don’t pay it no mind. That’s something about me, I don’t let stuff get in my head like that. You can talk bad about me and I promise, it can just go in one ear and out the other.”

Walker and No. 13 Florida State are set to play Florida (10-1, 7-1) at the Swamp Saturday, so the 6-foot-3, 277-pound DE should expect to get an earful from Florida fans. The Seminoles (9-2, 6-2 ACC) and Gators will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. EST on ESPN.
