Florida State reportedly expected to make decision on its next coach by Tuesday evening

The discussions seem to be progressing.

Florida State seems to be moving pretty quickly in the search for its next head coach. With Jimbo Fisher headed out west, reports have been coming in about who the next coach might be and according to Noles247, that decision is supposed to be made by Tuesday evening.

There were conflicting reports about whether that would be Willie Taggart and if it would come on Monday. It did not, but it looks like both sides were moving pretty quickly as Noles247 also reported that FSU and Taggart had met in Arizona on Monday.

Taggart was in the middle of a recruiting trip as a recruit posted some photos with him as the reports were coming out that he might become the new Seminoles head coach.

The issue with the contract negotiations is reportedly the buyout portion of it, but one of Noles247's sources on the FSU side says that the issue should be worked out. However, a source is also telling 247Sports that the disconnect on that end could be a deal breaker down the road.

Taggart was one of two coaches who were initially reported as candidates to replace Fisher and he quickly became the betting favorite to take the job as well. It looks like Vegas might know a thing or two about this coaching search thing after all if Taggart does end up being named the newest head coach of the Seminoles.
