The preseason AP Poll has Alabama at the top with some surprises behind them

That's about how we thought it would look.

The AP Poll is officially out and ready for viewing consumption. The Crimson Tide are of course atop the list yet again after returning a good amount of the team that narrowly lost to Clemson in the National Championship back in January.

The surprises on this list come after Alabama though as USC was given the No. 4 spot rather than the second or third slot where a lot of people thought they would end up. Florida State at three also means we won't get our historic 1 vs 2 matchup in the first week of the season like everyone was hoping for. Clemson also got a favorable spot in the top-five despite losing a ton of talent on offense.

Here is the list in its entirety:

  1. Alabama
  2. Ohio State
  3. Florida State
  4. USC
  5. Clemson
  6. Penn State
  7. Oklahoma
  8. Washington
  9. Wisconsin
  10. Oklahoma State
