ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit revealed that College GameDay will air live on location at the Rose Bowl on January 1st via Twitter on Tuesday.

College GameDay is ESPN’s flagship college football pregame show, having broadcasted live from campuses and game locations since 1993.

This year’s Rose Bowl game will play host to the College Football Playoff semifinal matchup between Georgia and Oklahoma.

Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield leads the No. 2 overall Sooners against a No. 3 Bulldogs team that ranked first in passing defense, as well as second in scoring, rushing and total defense among SEC teams, trailing only No. 4 Alabama in each category.

Last season, GameDay aired live from the Fiesta Bowl for the College Football Playoff semifinal matchup between Clemson and Ohio State, as well as the national championship between the Tigers and Alabama eight days later.
