All-Big 12 standout transferring and could end up playing for his dad

Will he end up playing for his dad?

Winston Dimel, an All-Big 12 fullback, is transferring out of the Kansas State Wildcats program. A graduate transfer, meaning he will be eligible to play immediately, Dimel made the announcement on Twitter.

This is notable for several reasons, but the biggest of which is that most already assume to know where Dimel will end up. His father, Dana Dimel, was the offensive coordinator last season for the Wildcats. However, he has since become the new head coach of UTEP.

In turn, because genetics, it is easy to speculate that the son will follow his father to the new program.

For what it is worth, he says he is also considering Missouri, Texas A&M and Wisconsin.

In three seasons as a starter for Kansas State, Dimel was first- or second-team All-Big 12 in each campaign. While his five touchdowns in 2017, as well as the rest of the counting-stats, do not scream greatness, good fullbacks rarely have awesome looking production numbers.

It is likely teams that still utilize the fullback position will be in hot pursuit of Dimel on the transfer market. Outside of his experience, he's also a reputable blocker and a relatively underrated short yard runner.

We will keep you posted when he announces his new home.
