It took only one week for Ohio State to start trolling the SEC

It was a rough opening Saturday for the SEC and seemingly everyone noticed. That includes Ohio State.

It was a rough opening Saturday for the SEC and seemingly everyone noticed. While Alabama was dominant and Georgia picked up a nice win over North Carolina, LSU suffered an ugly loss, Mississippi State flopped badly and a few other programs strung together unspectacular performances.

On the flip, Ohio State was utterly dominant in a runaway win over Bowling Green and a member of the Buckeyes coaching staff decided to take a big-time shot at the SEC as a whole.

OSU wide receivers coach Zach Smith did the bidding for the Big Ten and for his program specifically, taking this opportunity to pound his chest about the conference. Wisconsin's triumph over LSU was the bell cow for this boastful act, but Michigan was also impressive in blasting Hawaii and only Rutgers and Northwestern were unsuccessful in bids to begin the year on a high note.

This type of action is certainly aggressive from a member of the Big Ten after one week, but if any program's personnel have ammunition to fire at the "king" of college football in the SEC, it is Ohio State. Still, there will be plenty of back and forth in the coming weeks and the Buckeyes will be on notice to live up to this type of trash talk.
