Remembering the Time When Nebraska's Scott Frost Got Roasted by a Fast Food Chain

Social Media doesn't age well. Ask anyone who had a MySpace page back in the day. But for Nebraska's head coach Scott Frost, a viral tweet at his expense is unfortunately one of the greatest burns of all time. Seriously. It takes a lot to get posterized by a fast food chain and that's exactly

When he took the job in Lincoln, it appeared that Scott Frost wouldn't stop until Nebraska returns to college football glory. But, the rockiest start imaginable for the then-first-year head coach of the Cornhuskers wasn't giving anyone confidence in his ability to succeed.

After having his championship rings allegedly stolen and the first game of the season against Akron being canceled, the Nebraska Cornhuskers lost at home to Colorado and Troy before being absolutely routed by the Michigan Wolverines. It was the program's worst start since 1945, and Wendy's decided to have a little fun on Twitter at Nebraska's expense.

Wendy's Goes in for the Kill Against the Cornhuskers

If anyone is unfamiliar with Wendy's Twitter account (which would honestly be a bigger shock than Nick Saban leaving Alabama) the famous fast food restaurant has a pretty brilliant and hilarious social media presence. Nobody is safe, even the people who reply in anger, and it's all in good fun. There's a good pun in there about how Wendy's beef is never frozen, but we don't want to leave ourselves open to insult.

Incorporating Scott Frost with signature menu item "Frosty" is as good as it gets. It's almost too easy not to have a little fun. Plus, it doesn't get much better than a Frosty.

"Might need a Scott Frosty to ice down the beating Nebraska is taking. #FreshFanReaction" —Wendy's Twitter (@Wendys)

The only problem is some people cannot take a joke, and the thread after that original tweet has turned into mayhem.

Then, someone with a little over 1,300 followers on their Twitter account tried to say a platform of over 2.8 million followers should rethink its social media strategy and other Nebraska faithful want an apology.

Oh, the snark is real. But finally, some people got the joke, including a Huskers fan.

Some people want to boycott Wendy's, too, which got an equally great response.

This is definitely an age where social media rules the day and the Internet will forever remain undefeated. What started out as a simple jab and joke turned into people legitimately wanting to boycott Wendy's because they were offended.

It's definitely a rough start when a fast food chain roasts you, but it's not the end of the world.

What a time to be alive.

Coach Frost needs a little something to help the Nebraska Cornhuskers turn it around during the 2022 College Football Season. So far since taking the reins of the Cornhuskers, Frost has an abysmal 15-29 record as head coach. The last time a Nebraska coach has that bad a start was under Bill Jennings in the late 1950s. Needless to say, Frost needs to turn things around and quickly, or else his time at UCF will look like the exception rather than the rule.

And if he can't right the ship, the Wendy's account will definitely be ready to have some more fun. After all, Wendy's been is always fresh, never frozen. There's that pun!
