Brett Favre just gave a huge compliment to one SEC football program

This is big-time praise from Brett Favre.

Brett Favre isn't playing football anymore but that didn't stop him from paying big-time respect to a particular SEC program this week. The former Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets quarterback spoke as a part of South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp's clinic on Friday in Columbia and Favre tipped his cap in the direction of three former Gamecocks.

This is, of course, high praise for all three players. Sterling Sharpe was a five-time Pro Bowl and three-time All-Pro selection during an illustrious NFL career and his inclusion is a no-brainer on any list of the best players that Favre shared the field with offensively. As for Brooks, his tenure with the Packers flew under the radar when compared to Sharpe, but the now 46-year-old won a Super Bowl alongside Favre on the outside and he produced a nearly 1,500 yard season in 1995 catching passes from Favre.

Rice is easily the least productive of the trio when it comes to the NFL, but he is beloved by the South Carolina faithful and won't be easily forgotten in Columbia. The youngest of the trio did win a Super Bowl in Seattle and reach a Pro Bowl in Minnesota but, either way, Favre's compliment of the South Carolina program when it comes to developing wide receivers was very clear.

Outside of crossing paths in the NFL, Brett Favre has no direct connection to South Carolina given that he played at Southern Miss. Still, he went out of his way to send praise here and it didn't go unnoticed.
