A college football player is dealing with an unspeakable tragedy following a murder

Authorities say the victim was trying to walk away.

Andre Taylor, the father of Wisconsin wide receiver Quintez Cephus, was shot in the head following an argument and died today. He was 39.

Taylor's death was reported by NBC Sports.

The shooting happened in Macon, Ga. The Bibb County Sheriff's Department in a press release, said Taylor got in an argument with another man in front of a convenience store. When Taylor tried to walk away, the man pulled out a gun and shot him in the head.

Authorities said a  suspect, Calvin Stapleton, 40, turned himself in to police, and is being held on suspicion of criminal attempt to commit murder, criminal street gang activity and probation violation

As a true freshman, the 6-foot-2, 190 pound Cephus appeared in seven games as a wide receiver and caught four passes for 94 yards.
