Notre Dame quarterback Malik Zaire has still not made a decision on where he will play his last year of eligibility, but it looks as if another unlikely program has joined the mix. He originally had Texas, Wisconsin and Florida on his short list of destinations, but Orange Bloods' Anwar Richardson is reporting that Ivy Leaguer Harvard has entered the fray. Here's what he says on the matter:
From what I was told on Tuesday morning, Zaire intends to finalize his decision within the next two weeks and will announce it after he graduates from Notre Dame. According to Notre Dame's website, graduation ceremonies are May 19-21.
In addition, I was told a new school is in the mix.
Zaire is still considering Texas, Wisconsin and Florida, and the grad transfer quarterback has added Harvard to his short list. It remains unclear how serious Zaire is about playing Ivy League football. If he does go that route, Harvard would be his landing spot.

Zaire would likely have a good chance at starting at any of those school aside from perhaps Texas. The Longhorns have Shane Buechele starting at QB right now and they like the rising sophomore after he threw for 21 touchdowns against 11 interceptions in 2016.
Meanwhile, those other three schools are essentially in limbo at the position and could use a one-year stop gap in Zaire and he could use the opportunity to show the NFL that he's ready to play on that level. Zaire appeared in eight games last season, but only completed 11 of his 23 attempted passes for one touchdown and no interceptions.
It's worth noting that Florida can't currently take an graduate transfers though and coach Jim McElwain isn't worried about Zaire:
Florida can't take a graduate student because the last two they took either didn't finish out their schedules or didn't finish with a high enough GPA to qualify them for another.
