On Tuesday morning, it was reported that one of the Nkemdiche brothers, either Robert or Denzel, had been hospitilized on Monday. It was later reported that it was in fact Denzel who entered the hospital. Now, new reports have emerged regarding the reason for his visit to the hospital. Per the Clarion-Ledger, Denzel was hospitalized on Monday morning after he was unresponsive. Below is an excerpt from the report.
According to a press release issued by the Ridgeland Police Department, officers responded to 711 Lake Harbor Drive at 9:31 Monday morning for reports of an “unresponsive male.”
The call was deemed a “medical aid call,” and Ridgeland Fire Department was called to the scene to assist, according to the release.
This is Denzel’s second hospitalization in about a month — in November he was put into the ICU for an undisclosed reason. Nkemdiche didn’t play in the Rebels’ final two games of the season following the events. Nkemdiche played in 10 games this season nine of them as a starter, and had 53 total tackles.
His brother Robert was charged with possession of marijuana eight days ago following an incident in which he fell from a fourth story hotel window in Atlanta, Ga. over the weekend prior. We will continue to update this story as news comes about.
