ESPN releases SEC power rankings for the 2016 season

You can probably guess who got the No. 1 spot.

The 2016 season is roughly less than two weeks away, and with that comes preseason rankings. ESPN on Monday released the first rendition of its SEC power rankings, and unsurprisingly the reigning national champion Alabama Crimson Tide cam in front. Below is what ESPN writer Greg Ostendorf had to say about putting the Tide at the No. 1 spot.

"Look who's back on top. Yes, the Crimson Tide had seven players picked in the first three rounds of this year's NFL draft, including Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry. And sure, they still haven't named a starting quarterback for 2016. But isn't that how it is every year in Tuscaloosa? With players like Calvin Ridley, Cam Robinson, Jonathan Allen and Eddie Jackson on the roster, Alabama is still loaded and still the team to beat in the SEC. —Greg Ostendorf"
