The Oklahoma Sooners and Auburn Tigers faced off on Saturday in a clash of two historically great football programs.

But one clash took place before the game even got started. As the Sooners players took the field, Auburn's cheerleaders were going through their pre-game routine. One of the cheerleaders crashed and burned into one of the Oklahoma players as the team was coming onto the field.

Fans weighed in with different opinions on social media.

"BRO WHAT ARE THEY DOING THAT FOR WHILE THEY ARE RUNNING OUT," one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"That cheerleader flip landing on an Oklahoma player was wild! Oops indeed! Always something unexpected in sports!" another fan wrote.

Dillon Gabriel Responds to Brent Venables

2024 equals a fresh start for the Oklahoma Sooners as they have a new headman under center in Michael Hawkins. He'll have a tough act to follow after an impressive season by Dillion Gabriel in 2023, where he threw 30 touchdowns.

Earlier this year, Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables gave details on Gabriel's departure. Noting that when the former Sooners' QB came to him to opt out of last year's Alamo Bowl, he assumed it was to enter the NFL Draft. Instead, Gabriel transferred to the University of Oregon.

As for Gabriel, he just wants to focus on the task in front of him.

"Honestly, it's so far gone. I just know God's got me right where I need to be. I've got a smile on my face every day because I'm in Eugene, Oregon, around a bunch of great guys," Gabriel said to reporters.

"Of course, those are guys that are my brothers for life and guys I've played with. Like I said, it's people I still talk to on the team, players-wise. You focus on what you can control and that's right where I'm at. Like I said, I'm happy God put me right where I need to be and I think that's all that needs to be said, honestly."
