Florida’s Jim McElwain landed arguably his biggest win of the 2016 recruiting cycle in landing four-star quarterback Feleipe Franks (6-foot-5, 220 pounds, Crawfordville, Fl.) on Sunday, just 24 hours after he took an unofficial visit for the Florida-Florida State game over the weekend. Franks was previously verbally committed to Les Miles and LSU from June 1st of this year, but decommitted on Nov. 23.
Now, it appears that Miles, just a few days after LSU athletic director Joe Alleva confirmed Miles would continue as the Tigers’ head coach, Miles and his offensive coordinator Cam Cameron are trying to get Franks back, taking an in-home visit with him on Tuesday evening.
Franks is the fifth ranked pro-style quarterback in the 2016 class, according to 247Sports. The in-house visit isn’t all that surprising after Frank’s decommitment from the Tigers, but it’ll be interesting to see how much of an affect it’ll have on Franks, especially since most are assuming Miles will shake things up amongst his coordinators, especially at OC.
