Minnesota and Missouri have played a low-scoring, somewhat sloppy Citrus Bowl to this point, but the Gophers got a huge play from TE Maxx Williams for a 54-yard touchdown early in the third quarter that was a beauty.

Williams catches the ball on the corner route to the sideline and then hurdles not one, but two defenders on his way to the endzone. Here are two angles of the terrific play.

It’s an impressive play from a very large man — 6-foot-5, 250 pounds — and showed why Williams is regarded as one of the nation’s best tight ends and has NFL teams excited about his prospects.

The Gophers trail the Tigers 19-17 early in the fourth quarter.
