Eddy Pineiro’s first field goal as a Gator was a beauty

Florida football is having its 2016 spring scrimmage under the lights from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Friday night, and a ton of new, young faces are looking to make their marks on the field. One of those is JUCO kicker Eddy Pineiro, who signed with Florida on National Signing Day in February, despite being committed to Nick Saban and Alabama for a long time during his recruiting process. During Friday night’s scrimmage, Pineiro attempted his first collegiate field goal — he lined up for a 52-yard attempt and nailed it in the first quarter of the game, giving Team Orange three early points.

Florida fans may finally have themselves a kicker to cheer for after multiple seasons of kicking struggles on special teams.
