We already have an SEC quarterback claiming he's the best QB in the country

This is one way to show confidence in yourself.

In the college football offseason, it's easy for teams, coaches — and especially players — to get carried away with high expectations for themselves. It's only early April of long the college football offseason, and we already have a claim for the best quarterback in the nation.

Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly, who was one of the only QBs who was able to dismantle Nick Saban and Alabama's defense last season, recently told Gridiron Now's Tony Barnhart that he believes he's the best talent under center in the entire country. He added that putting on this mindset helped him towards the back-end of last season — during the Rebels' final three games of the regular season, Kelly threw a combined seven touchdown passes and zero interceptions.

"I needed to be comfortable with the mindset that I am the best quarterback in the nation and the best on the field on that day," Kelly said via Gridiron Now. "I had the mindset that nobody can stop me ... no matter who's on defense. I knew I had playmakers around me. As long as I took care of the ball and managed the game we were going to win. Just having that mindset flipped the switch."

Kelly enters 2016 as one of the most familiar quarterback faces for 2016, given that the SEC saw a plethora of departing quarterbacks following last season. We'll see which other signal callers make big claims such as these during the offseason.
