Report: Oregon working on backup plan after Baylor's hiring of Matt Rhule

Oregon is on the hot seat now.

Baylor was one of several Power Five schools in need of a coach this year and they got their man with the hiring of Matt Rhule. That noticeably leaves Oregon without a head coach after firing Mark Helfrich. There have been several names attached to the job, but no results yet.

USA Today's Dan Wolken is reporting that the Ducks could be gaining steam on a prime candidate though.

The school has already ruled out P.J. Fleck as it didn't interview him over the weekend or on Monday. That leaves only a few options left like Taggart or Boise State's Bryan Harsin. There were some rumors that current Florida coach Jim McElwain might head back to the Pacific Northwest, but he's made it clear that he likes his life in Gainesville and will continue to be the Gators head coach.
