OSU unveils new jerseys to commemorate 1942 Rose Bowl win

The 1942 Rose Bowl is the only one to be held outside of Pasadena.

Oregon State is coming up on the 75th anniversary of their 1942 Rose Bowl win over Duke. The game is unique, as it was the only Rose Bowl to be held outside of Pasadena, CA. Due to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor the month before, the game was move to Durham, NC after Duke agreed to host the contest.

In honor of that game, the Beavers will be wearing this awesome new uniform combination for their upcoming game against Washington State.

Via Oregon Live:

The "Battleship gray base" helmet features a gray Beaver logo with orange eyes over a gray helmet with a black facemask. The look is meant to commemorate the school's 1942 Rose Bowl team, which beat Duke 20-16 in the game. The helmet will have the year "1942" on the front and "MEN OF ROSES" on the back.

While Oregon State isn't known for their uniform combinations like rival Oregon is, this is just as awesome as anything the Ducks have put out recently.
