One college bans athletes from kneeling during national anthem

That’s certainly a different take.

While national anthem protests have taken over the sports world since Donald Trump's "sons of bitches" comments Friday evening, at least one college is pushing back at even the thought of students kneeling.

According to TMZ, Division II program Colorado Christian University is requiring all athletes to stand for the national anthem and the prayer before all games and/or sporting events.

CCU Centennial Institute head Jeff Hunt added, per Bleacher Report, "Unfortunately, refusing to stand during the National Anthem dilutes the message of the protestors and portrays disrespect towards our country, all who are serving it, and our veterans."

Here's what President Trump said Friday night:

"Wouldn't you love one of these NFL owners... when someone disrespects our flag say, "Get that son of a bitch off the field, right now, out, he's fired."

In turn, NFL, NBA and MLB athletes have responded with either comments pushing back against the president or reactionary statements such as kneeling or staying in the locker room.
