SEC power rankings Week 6: Florida, Alabama making gains

Not a good week for what were our top two teams in the power rankings.

Last week we asked if the Florida Gators are for real. Well apparently they are, as they absolutely destroyed then No. 3 Ole Miss at home. The win gives Florida a much needed boost in the power rankings, as they bolted up to No. 2. The loss knocked Ole Miss out of the top spot, as they dropped all the way to No. 5.

Our other top team last week, Georgia, also suffered a huge drop after their terrible showing against Alabama. Luckily for the Dogs, though, they get Tennessee this week and will have a chance to rebound against a reeling Volunteers squad.

Speaking of Tennessee, they are starting to infringe on Vanderbilt territory. Vandy is off this week and if Tennessee loses big time to Georgia, then we could see a new cellar-dweller in the SEC power rankings. Until then, though, Vanderbilt gets the poop emoji next to their name.
