Alabama lands its first big transfer under Avery Johnson

The Crimson Tide will love this guy!

Alabama basketball is looking to be in good shape under head coach Avery Johnson. He just picked up a huge commitment from Ohio State transfer Daniel Giddens. The 6'10" big man wasn't quite happy with his playing time at OSU so he decided to transfer out and he chose Bama over Georgia (his home state), TCU and Pittsburgh.

He did leave a nice message for Thad Matta and his staff before leaving though:

Giddens averaged 3.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game while getting about 18 minutes per game. He also played in all 33 games for the Buckeyes last season. He will be eligible to play for Alabama in the 2017-18 season since he has to sit out a year per NCAA transfer rules.
