Huge four-star LB VanDarius Cowan flips from Florida State

In a shocking move on Saturday, four-star linebacker VanDarius Cowan (6-foot-4, 217 pounds, Palm Beach Gardens, FL) announced his intention to decommit from Florida State and commit to Alabama.

According to 247Sports, Cowan was blunt in his reasoning behind the switch: “It’s better than Florida State.”

This is a big pickup for the Tide and a big loss for the Seminoles. Cowan is a consensus Top 100 recruit across the board for the 2017 recruiting cycle, and it has to hurt for Florida State people to hear, “Alabama is just better,” as the excuse for the flip.

Cowan becomes the seventh commitment for 2017 for Alabama.
