Lane Kiffin says Nick Saban's dynasty isn't even the best in college football

How can he possibly think this?

Lane Kiffin took an interview with Fox Sports Radio and answered the usual questions that have been asked recently; how leaving Alabama felt, what he plans to do at FAU and other such things. However, he was asked about a potential meeting between USC's best team —- where he worked under Pete Carroll and then again as the head coach for three years —- and Alabama's best team.

Here's the answer the FAU head coach gave:

"USC wins it. Look at Pete's old teams and how they play. He goes 6-1 in BCS games, only loss is to Texas in the Vince Young game. Now (if the game is played) at the beginning of the season, maybe not as much. That's how Coach (Carroll) was, they were going to be fresh, now if you look at Alabama, no one wants to play Alabama at the beginning of the year. Because how (Saban) has them ready to play at the beginning of the year. Someone told me the other day that Coach Saban is one or two games over .500 in his career in bowl games."

That's not entirely wrong either as he's 10-8 in bowl games with four of the wins counting as BCS Championships and another as the College Football Playoff Championship. Carroll makes a good point about preparation for each team and how Carroll could have definitely gone a perfect 7-0 in his bowl games if Vince Young hadn't gone freak mode to win the game for the Longhorns.

He would know better than most though as he worked with both coaches extensively and closely. However, Saban's ability to stay peaking for longer speaks volumes rather than having just one super high peak like Carroll did before heading back to the NFL.
