Tide’s reliance on freshmen could have lasting impact on future of the program

Alabama’s reliance on its very talented freshman may end up having an unintentional positive impact on the future of the program. Tide coach Nick Saban hasn’t been shy of playing whoever will provide the best chance of winning at every position on the field this season. As a result the Tide have run out quite a few freshman including Minkah Fitzpatrick, Calvin Ridley, Damien Harris, Ronnie Harrison, Ross Pierschbacher, Daron Payne, and Marlon Humphrey.

All have been key contributors to the Tide this season and according to Yahoo/Rivals.com writer Andrew Bone, it appears that Alabama’s future recruits are noticing.

This won’t be something opposing coaches will want to hear. Long has Saban been accused of over recruiting and long have coaches told recruits not to go to Bama because they will be stuck on the bench for their first few years. Well so much for that. It appears Nick Saban now has even more ammo to go after the top recruits in the nation.
