Gus Malzahn addresses punishment for four Auburn players arrested in May

Auburn opens the season against Clemson on Sept. 3 in Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn gave a very important bit of news Monday on Day 1 of SEC Media Days from Hoover, Al. Back in May, four Auburn players were arrested on a single charge each of second-degree marijuana positions. The four players —  defensive end Byron Cowart, defensive back Carlton Davis, wide receiver Ryan Davis and defensive back Jeremiah Dinson — will not receive a suspension for the arrest, Malzahn confirmed on Monday. Auburn opens the season against Clemson at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Sept. 3.

Head coach Gus Malzahn said shortly after the incident in May that he is "aware of the situation and we will handle this matter appropriately."
