If you weigh 300 pounds and play high school football, chances are you're going to get looked at by some NCAA coaches. Four-star defensive tackle Marquis Robinson fits this description.
Robinson is ranked as one of the most well-acclaimed (and heaviest) members of the 2021 recruiting class and put up some great numbers at Florida's Milton High School.
After weighing various Division I offers, Robinson signed with the Auburn Tigers, a team undergoing a transitional period.

The Tigers were strong favorites to sign Robinson, but they still had plenty of competition. Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, OIe Miss, and Tennessee are just some of the programs that reached out to the star defensive lineman.
Auburn' defensive coordinator Kevin Steele and former defensive line coach Rodney Garner deserve a lot of credit for wooing Robinson. They personally built a relationship with Robinson and fellow lineman recruit Tobechi Okoli to bring them to The Plains.
Combined with some strong coaching from new Auburn football coach Bryan Harsin, The Tigers' defense has the chance to improve on its 2020 figure of allowing 24.1 points per game.
Marquis Robinson Highlights
It's a given that Robinson's size stands out on his highlight tape. That doesn't mean he is a one-dimensional player, however. His athleticism is excellent, and he uses his strength to get by any blocker who dares to guard him.
With head coach Harry Lees' Panthers, Robinson played an important role in varsity games for two seasons. He was a playmaker, totaling 53 tackles and a trio of sacks in 11 games.

Robinson may not crack Auburn's starting lineup immediately, but he will get his chances.
Auburn linemen have reached the NFL in the past, and if Robinson is seasoned correctly, he could hear his name called by Roger Goodell in a few seasons.
Marquis Robinson won't be a man amongst boys when he reaches the Division I level, but his frame and athletic capabilities should put him in a great position to succeed in the future.
Under a new regime, Auburn needs all the help it can get.
