BREAKING: Treon Harris will start at QB for the Georgia game

Jeff Driskel is no longer getting first-team reps. Those are now going to freshman QB Treon Harris.

On the SEC teleconference today, Gators head coach Will Muschamp announced that the freshman playmaker will start against the Georgia Bulldogs. However, Muschamp did announce that Driskel will have a role. That role was not specified.

This will not be the two-QB system that failed against Missouri. This will be a more set plan with one true starter.

In the three games that Harris has played in (Eastern Michigan, Tennessee, Missouri), the Gators have outscored opponents 37-0 when he’s taken over games for good. For the season, Harris is 12-of-18 with 263 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT.

Florida faces Georgia Nov. 1 in Jacksonville.
