Ever since Jeff Driskel lost his starting QB role, it was rumored that the junior QB would transfer and play his final college season elsewhere. Well, one day after helping the Gators win in the Birmingham Bowl, Driskel has made his decision after being granted a release from UF.
The quarterback will attend Louisiana Tech. The Bulldogs played for the Conference USA title this season and are looking to replace starting QB Cody Sokol.
Head coach Jim McElwain confirmed that he granted Driskel a release from Florida and because he has his degree already, he can play immediately at a different school. It was rumored that the quarterback was interested in transferring to Duke.
The former Gators QB has one year of eligibility remaining.
