FSU defensive end: ‘It’s time for them [Florida] to watch us do work’

The biggest rivalry in the state of Florida is finally here — it’s officially Florida-Florida State week. The trash talking began as early as last Saturday when Florida cornerback Jalen Tabor said he thinks the Gators have ‘the best team in the state.’ Florida State defensive end DeMarcus Walker had some words of his own about the rivalry, specifically citing how overconfident the Gators are, especially on social media. The social media reference was hinting more towards presidential candidate Marco Rubio’s anti-FSU comments made earlier this season.

“[We focus on them,] maybe during the offseason, because they talk so much crap on Twitter,” Walker said via the Orlando Sentinel. “Now it’s time for them to watch us do work.”

Walker also had some choice words about the Florida fight song, and compared it to Florida State’s rivalry with Miami. Hint: the Florida one is a little bit more intense.

“As far as history, we’ve got a couple of alumni back home [Jacksonville], they can deal with Miami, but they still hate Florida.” Walker said via Tomahawk Nation. You can play the Miami fight song in the locker room, and it’s probably okay. But if you play that ‘Go Gators’– you’re getting annihilated.”
