Five-star Georgia quarterback commit Jacob Eason is officially visiting Florida

With any head coaching change comes questions about the current and future recruiting classes. Such is the case for five-star quarterback commit Jacob Eason (6-foot-5, 205 pounds, Lake Stevens, Wa.), who is verbally committed to Georgia. Eason verbally committed to Georgia and now former head coach Mark Richt back in July of 2014. Now that Richt is out at Georgia, Eason, although he is still verbally committed to the Dawgs, is taking an official visit to Florida.

This comes just days after four-star quarterback Feleipe Franks (6-foot-5, 220 pounds, Crawfordville, Fl.) verbally committed to the Gators after taking a Florida unofficial. When news of Eason’s visit to Florida, Franks told the Atlanta Journal Constitition that he thinks Eason’s visit to Florida is “not good.” Franks was asked again by the AJC if it affects his pledge to Florida, and he responded “I don’t have any other comments on that.”

Keep in mind, this whole Eason thing may not be resolved until after Georgia hires its next head coach, which could potentially be Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart. Again — Eason remains committed to Georgia, but him taking an official visit to Gainesville even after the Franks commitment.
