One SEC power just lost a JUCO pledge it desperately needed

This one could hurt.

Florida is going to be in need of defensive stars in 2017 so its crucial that coach Jim McElwain and his staff get all of the talent there they can. Guys like Jarrad Davis, Marcus Maye, Jalen Tabor and Quincy Wilson are likely headed to the NFL Draft. They had a great recruit in JUCO product Javier Edwards who plays defensive tackle, but it seems that after taking a visit to Arkansas during this weekend, he has backed off the commitment.

The 6'2", 325-pound tackle gave his commitment to the Gators back in June, but now Edwards is saying that the Razorbacks are his top choice right now.

"I've got to do these home visits and see how it plays out," Edwards told 247Sports. "Right now, Arkansas is probably my number one."

Florida defensive coaches Randy Shannon and Chris Rumph are scheduled to meet in-person with Edwards on Sunday in hopes of repairing the fractured relationship. Edwards is rated as the No. 10 defensive tackle in the JUCO class.
