Report: There was one man who saved the UF-LSU game

He's the hero we need, but not the one we deserve.

The Florida-LSU game almost didn't get rescheduled because of LSU's insistence to keep its home game that was originally scheduled for November 19 against South Alabama. This was making it quite difficult for Florida to get the game rescheduled as it was supposed to be —- in Gainesville.

After much deliberation and a lot of narrative being driven on both sides, the game was rescheduled for November 19 while both teams bought out their respective opponents they were supposed to play that weekend. However, the game will be played in Baton Rouge and the story of how "Florida is dodging LSU" can certainly be put to rest.

According to an article from FOX Sports' Clay Travis, there was one man who signed off on the game getting moved under the condition that Florida get the next two games at home in the permanent cross-division rivalry.

Finally, on Thursday, five days after the game would have initially been played, came a major breakthrough: Florida head coach Jim McElwain was the SEC's savior, agreeing to travel to Baton Rouge to play at LSU this season in exchange for the Gators getting the home game back in 2017.

So when you claim that Florida is scared to go anywhere and play someone you can put that bogus narrative to rest. Not only did Florida have to give up two home games, but is playing LSU when their best player in Leonard Fournette should be back and healthy to play.
