“Oh you, Herschel Walker. My God O’mighty, he ran right through two men!” — Larry Munson, longtime voice of the Georgia Bulldogs.

This season marks the 35-year anniversary of the start of Walker’s tremendous Georgia career that included the last Heisman Trophy won by a Georgia player.

To celebrate the anniversary as well as the final week’s countdown to the start of the 2015 season, we provide this gift — thank you, YouTube! — of Walker’s first game as he burst onto the scene in style. Remarkably, Walker went into the game as the Bulldogs’ third-string tailback, as coaches and players interviewed in the piece tell the story.

Walker took off the moment he got his shot, bowling over the Vols and carrying the Bulldogs to victory over conference rival Tennessee right in front of a dismayed Vols home crowd. Go to the 2:47 mark of the video to see the run that kickstarted the legend.

The call in the booth was made by none other than Larry Munson, who would call every Walker rush during his Georgia playing days.
