The Georgia Bulldogs picked up a piece that is going to cement the future of this defense. On Friday, five-star safety Rashad Rountree from Evans, Ga., committed to the G.
Rountree’s commitment gives the Bulldogs 24 commits for the class of 2015. Rountree made his decision by tweeting out his choice. He chose Georgia over Duke and Ohio State. With his commitment, UGA moved up to No. 2 in Rivals’ overall rankings, right behind Alabama.
Rountree had a ceremony at Lakeside High School earlier today and spoke about his decision.
“It basically came down to the best school for me,” Roundtree said, according to 247Sports. “I met a lot of great programs along the way but Georgia really stood out to me as the school that I was most comfortable with. I felt like I was at home there.”
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound safety is a ball hawk and hard-hitting safety. He’s great in run support and takes direct angles to the point of attack. As he continues to grow, Rountree’s best football is ahead of him.
