Former Georgia head coach Jim Donnan is applauding Mark Richt for flying across the country on a whim Saturday after the Auburn game to visit five-star quarterback commit Jacob Eason.
“When the head coach of the University of Georgia finishes a big ball game, gets on a plane and flies to Seattle and then drives a couple hours to see a young man, that’s a situation where you’re telling that guy you’re really important to me,” Donnan told DawgNation.com. “Just a tremendous insight by Richt in going out there. I thought it was great.”
Donnan, who was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2009, coached the Bulldogs from 1996-2000, compiling a record of 40-19 and leading the team to four bowl appearances in five years.
