Visiting a college town is a full experience. Sometimes it's for a big-time football game. Other times it's for the tailgates or the bar scene. Maybe it's all of the above. There is no wrong way to spend your time, but if you're ever in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, there's one burger challenge you have to try... if you're up for it.
Londoner Pub & Grill, a classic English pub on Sherwood Forest Boulevard, is definitely one of the best places in town. It's full of good food, craft beer and is home to one of the top food challenges in the United States.
It's seven pounds of pure madness. It's the Big Ben Burger Challenge.

Whether it's for brunch or dinner, the Big Ben Burger Challenge is truly one of a kind. It's everything you've ever wanted for a burger, but multiplied times an insane amount.
What's on it? So glad you asked. Here's the description from the Londoner Pub & Grill.
"Four pound burger served on a toasted muffaletta bread topped with four slices of Cheddar cheese and four slices of Swiss cheese, four sunny eggs, bacon, sauteed mushrooms, grilled onions, jalapenos, lettuce, tomato, red onions & pickles. Served with two pounds of cheese fries with ranch and red onion gravy dipping sauces."
Four pounds of burger. Two pounds of cheese fries. Another pound of toppings. This a mouth-watering monster, to say the least.
In order to complete the challenge, you have to eat everything in an hour or less. If that happens, you get the big menu item for free.
So if you're not in the mood for fish and chips, bangers and mash, or Shepherd's Pie, perhaps it's time to take your dining experience and the pub atmosphere up another notch.
It's always the perfect time of year to try.
