Former North Dakota State linebacker Jabril Cox is so good, the phone probably started ringing seconds after his name appeared in the NCAA Transfer Portal. He belongs at the highest level and it's no surprise he instantly became one of the most-wanted players in college football. Now we know where he will be spending his final year of eligibility.
On April 2, the 6-foot-3 linebacker and two-time FCS All-American committed to the LSU Tigers. There were plenty of suitors, but he apparently felt the most comfortable with head coach Ed Orgeron, defensive coordinator Bo Pelini, and in Baton Rouge for next season.
Losing Jacob Phillips, Patrick Queen and K'Lavon Chaisson to the NFL Draft stung, but the Tigers definitely have more help on the way.

Landing the graduate transfer linebacker is a big-time get for the Tigers in 2020, and it's not one to be taken lightly. Cox is a stud. He proved it for three years with the Bison in the Missouri Valley Conference.
As a junior, Cox racked up 92 tackles, including 5.5 sacks. He finished with 258 tackles, including 38 tackles for loss and 14 sacks, 18 pass breakups, six interceptions, three fumble recoveries and one forced fumble over three seasons at NDSU, according to The Advocate.
After a redshirt season, Cox was one of the top freshman at the FCS level, won the Missouri Valley Football Conference Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore and was named an Associated Press All-American as a junior last season, per ESPN.
"I have had a great four years at North Dakota State. We've won three national titles, and I wouldn't change it for the world, but I think it's time for a new journey, and to enter the transfer portal was a great decision for me to help elevate my game and compete at the highest level."
