It’s starting to look more and more like Les Miles is out as head coach else after rumors of being on the hot seat have been circulating for weeks. There was also talk that his large buyout wouldn’t be a problem for LSU and that they are already looking at replacements. James Smith of NOLA.com is having a meeting with his players this morning, presumably to give them the bad news:
Miles is expected to have a “special meeting” with his players Monday afternoon, according to team sources (this is an update from an earlier report noting it would happen in the morning). While the extent of the meeting is not known, there is growing concern on the LSU team that they may be losing their coach in the near future.
The Alabama hangover has been very real this season for Miles and his Tigers. They’ve lost two straight games after it was revealed that Miles might be coaching for his job the last two weeks of the season. The team lost to Arkansas at home at night (!!!!) and at Ole Miss this past weekend. Miles is 110-32 in his tenure at LSU and 138-53 if you include his stint at Oklahoma State before.
And if you weren’t sure how this mighty end, we may have some insight.
That does not sound good at all. I can only hope LSU realizes the huge mistake it’s about to make.
