LSU 5-star signee’s father “stunned” by wide receivers coach’s departure

LSU wide receivers coach Adam Henry bolted from the Tigers to the NFL, and he hasn’t left without impacting the college team.

The Tigers landed five-star receiver Tyron Johnson on National Signing Day, and caught his father’s reaction to the news:

“When I first heard the news I was stunned,” Tyrone Johnson stated. “Coach (Adam) Henry was a major factor in our decision. At the end of the day, though, he was just a piece of the puzzle. We committed to LSU and it goes above and beyond just one person.”

The receiver handled the news a bit better:

“I have a lot of love and respect for Adam Henry, but I signed up to play for LSU, not just Coach Henry,” the standout receiver said.

“After talking to Coach Cam (Cameron) and Coach Frank (Wilson), they’ve told me not to panic. They’ll find the right guy and that this is the world of college football. Coaches change schools all the time and that I represent the university. We’re all on the same page now.”

Regardless of the decision, it sounds like Johnson will make the best of a difficult situation.
