LSU has likely lost wide receiver Travin Dural for the season, as he’s scheduled to undergo surgery to repair a torn hamstring this week. While the Tigers (7-3, 4-3 SEC) lost one starter, it looks like they’ll get one back on Saturday when they play Texas A&M, according to NOLA.com’s Jim Kleinpeter.
Starting left tackle Jerald Hawkins is expected to return against the Aggies (8-3, 4-3 SEC), Les Miles said Wednesday.
“He practiced the whole week,” Miles said of Hawkins. “We expect him to start and play.”
Hawkins missed last week’s 38-17 loss to No. 18 Ole Miss, which meant Vadal Alexander had to switch from right tackle to left to replace Hawkins and freshman Toby Weathersby took Alexander’s spot at right tackle. Weathersby struggled in his first career start, so it would be a big lift for LSU if Hawkins is able to return.
LSU and Texas A&M will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. EST Saturday on the SEC Network.
