Player to watch for in South Carolina’s opener against Texas A&M

It’s been a long time coming for him and now Dylan Thompson will get his chance to start in the season opener. He has been sitting behind Connor Shaw and Stephen Garcia for four years. The fifth-year senior is finally ready to step up and step in to a big role on offense. He does have some experience going 3-0 in the starts he did get when those ahead of him were injured or suspended.

Quarterback coach, G.A. Mangus, said earlier in the week that Thompson is ready to take the reins and control of this offense. Over the last three seasons, Thompson has thrown for over 1,800 yards over the last three seasons and he has 14 touchdowns to only five interceptions. He has proven time and again that he can come in cold and lead South Carolina to a win, but will he be able to do so now that the pressure is fully on him?
